Aquamarine are hosting an Equipment Speciality training event. Although this course is invaluable it is not sanctioned by any diving organisation but has been put togehter by the club in association with Amphibian Sports Dive Shop.
Why an Equipment Speciality Course?
- This course is intended to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of their dive equipment and this is not to be confused with an equipment repair course.
- The course will explain common problems with equipment and recommend professional maintenance procedures.
- On the course the basic principles of the air compressor and cylinder tank filling (including bank storage and O2 filling) will be explained with some hands on experience.
- Also some simple suggestions for combatable equipment configurations and introduction to new equipment.
What do I need to start?
- No dive certification required
- No minimum age limit
What will I do?
- Understand the principles how a compressor works.
- Understand the principles of gas storage.
- Understand the principles of cylinder filling.
- O2 gas filling & its problems.
- BCD servicing, care & maintenance
- Regulator servicing, care & maintenance
- Exposure suit servicing, care & maintenance
- Tips on equipment configuration & using clip & accessories to your best advantage.
- Time to look around & buy some dive gear. (with on the night discount)
How long will it take?
- Depending on the amount on the class size, about 2.5 hours
What will I need?
- Pen & paper to take notes
- Cash or credit card to buy dive gear (and beer afterwards)
